We purchased this train for our 18 month old grandson. He does not play with it; it is set up on a table with the tracks surrounding a small village and farm. He loves watching the train go round the tracks and loves the realistic sounds it makes. We have to run it for him several times during the day. Really do not think it would be sturdy enough for a child to actually play with it, but it is perfect for a little train watcher.
I should have read the other reviews more carefully as the service provider (etravis) is obviously pulling a bait and switch scam. The train set that arrived was not the one listed, instead it was a small set called Western Express Train Set with 11 pieces and only a circle track (not an oval). It included the loco, a tender and one carriage and even though the website mentioned that it came with a train station it did not. The quality also looks very cheap and I would say that it is at best a $10 train set. The up side was that Amazon was very quick in getting a return lable to me via email and it is going back tomorrow. I would advise people to stay away from this set and this seller.
